Tonight’s “Sunday Night at the Opera” with host Alexa Petrenko belatedly celebrates the music of the remarkable Italian opera composer Gioachino Rossini.
In Alexa’s words: “Rossini was a leap year baby, born February 29, 1792. Maybe this made him grumpy enough to mutter ‘how great opera would be if there were no singers.’ This week, Yankee Diva Joyce DiDonato makes him eat his words with her irresistible performance of arias from the Maestro’s lesser known operas, including Maometto, Simiramide, and Otello.”

“Sunday Night at the Opera” with Alexa Petrenko airs at 9 pm on The New Classical FM.
