Walter’s Falls was founded by Pioneer John Walter and is family in 1854. Walter harnessed the waters power to develop a Sawmill, Feedmill and Woolen Mill.
Today the Sawmill site is home to The Falls Inn. There are remnants of the old Mill and a small bridge that allows you and your family to cross over the Big Head River and view the Falls from different vistas. There is a viewing platform where Walter’s Creek plunging a spectacular 14 metres spilling over the cliff to the valley floor. The powerful rush of water can be heard as you pull into the parking area. Walter’s Falls is one of few easily accessible waterfalls in Ontario.
