The Good Life, Travel
Are you thinking of taking a cruise this year? The oldest and largest cruise specialty retailer in North America is just out with this information on the major trends for 2008. According to Cruise Holidays, the top destinations for Canadians this year are the Caribbean, with an average cost of $159 a day, Alaska, at $259 a day, and the Mediterranean, at $269 a day. Most people choose seven or twelve day packages, and the survey says those choices are based on the particular itinerary and cruise line, with price the third most important factor. Most vacationers book cruises months in advance. Only five percent leave it to the last minute, though that’s a good way to find a deal. Finally, if you want to be ahead of the pack, try the season’s emerging destinations: South America, Australia, and China.
