Ravel’s Bolero grew to become one of his best-known orchestral works. It’s regularly programmed by symphonies, and as been used in movies, and figure skating routines (think Torvill & Dean, the British ice dance pair that revolutionized the sport, earning the pair an unprecedented string of perfect marks in the 1984 Olympic games in Sarajevo. Their achievement ranks #8 in the top 100 sporting achievements in history). Here’s an animated short where the notes are literally lifted off the page and come to life.
