The famed soprano Sondra Radvanovsky is featured in a program of Verdi arias on tonight’s edition of “Sunday Night at the Opera”. Here’s host Alexa Petrenko to explain:
“This week we celebrate the birthday of one of the greatest of all opera composers, Giuseppe Verdi, who was born on October 10 in 1813. I will play you spell-binding performances from the ‘Verdi Arias’ CD of the wonderful soprano Sondra Radvanovsky, with Constantine Orbelian and the Philharmonia of Russia, which includes arias from Il Trovatore, Un ballo in maschera, La forza del destino, Ernani, Aida, and I vespri siciliani.
There’s still time to catch Sondra Radvanovsky live in the Canadian Opera Company production of Dvorak’s Rusalka, which is currently playing until October 26.
“Sunday Night at the Opera” airs at 9 PM on The New Classical FM.
