This Week on “Dinner Classics” with Cocktail Maestro Norm Owen: Fernet featured image

This week, Cocktail Maestro Norm Owen introduces us to one of those products people overlook but shouldn’t – Fernet. Invented by an Italian doctor in the 1840s, Fernet is an herbaceous digestif we should all try.

If drunk on its own, make sure it’s very cold (you can store it in the freezer), and simply serve it over ice. You can also try to drink it as the Argentinians do, mixed with cola. OR… you can try it in this cocktail which bartenders serve each other,  a real insider’s exclusive:

The Industry Cocktail
.75oz Fernet-Branca

.75oz green chartreuse
.75oz lime juice
.75oz 1:1 simple syrup

Shake in over ice until very cold, strain into a coupe, and enjoy feeling like a professional bartender!
