La Boheme is set to open at the Canadian Opera Company on Wednesday, so “Sunday Night at the Opera” host Alexa Petrenko decided to review this marvelous opera of Puccini’s. In her words:

“This week it’s your refresher course on Puccini’s irresistible romantic opera La Boheme, which opens the COC’s spring 2019 season on April 17. I’ll play some highlights from an iconic old recording with Renata Tebaldi as Mimi,  the little seamstress with the cold, cold hands,  and Carlo Bergonzi as Rodolfo,  the young poet who lives upstairs in their Parisian garret,  poor in material things but rich in imagination, and with an almost unlimited gift for love.”

“Sunday Night at the Opera” airs at 9 PM on The New Classical FM.
