This week on Dinner Classics just after 6:30pm, Cocktail Maestro Norm Owen reaches to the back of the liquor cabinet and tells us how we can use all those stray bottles of odd liqueur we’ve never known what to do with!

For Amaretto

The Amaretto Sour
2 oz Amaretto
.75 oz lemon juice
One egg white

Dry shake (i.e. without ice), then wet shake (i.e. with ice), then double strain into a rocks glass with ice.

Optional: Boost it with .75 oz of high proof Bourbon

For Banana Liqueur

The Helter Skelter
2 oz Rye
.5 oz Amer Picon (or China-China)
.75 oz Banana Liqueur
2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Shake with ice, and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a twist of orange and enjoy!

For Crème de Cacao

The Brandy Alexander
1 oz Brandy (that might also have been lurking in your cupboard for years!)
1 oz Crème de cacao
1 oz half-and-half cream

Shake on ice, strain into a coupe, and garnish with a light shaving of nutmeg!

Blue Curaçao

The Blue Hawaiian
1 oz light rum
1 oz dark rum
1 oz Blue Curaçao
2 oz pineapple juice

Shake on ice, and serve in a hurricane glass or Tiki cup over crushed ice. Garnish with a slice of pineapple if you like, and pretend you’re in the Caribbean!
