Kevin Tuerff and Jeff Madden visited the “Classical Mornings” studio with Mike & Jean to chat about smash hit “Come From Away”. The show has just re-located to the Elgin Theatre at 189 Yonge Street, and will continue to play there until June 20.

Kevin Tuerff was a passenger flying from Rome to New York City when his plane was re-routed to Gander. Kevin was going through doubts about organized religion, had and epiphany during his stay with the wonderful folks of Gander. He was incredibly touched by the acts of kindness from a community of 9,000 to 6,500 unexpected visitors from all over the world and, and chats about the “ripple effect of kindess”. Since many people, especially in the US, hadn’t heard about Gander, Newfoundland, and the positive stories from 9/11, he wrote a book about his experiences, “Channel of Peace”.

Dora Mavor Moore Award winner Jeff Madden is a singer, actor, and teacher, who has appeared in Jersey Boys, productions at Shaw Festival, an TV productions such as Murdoch Mysteries and Mayday. He portrayed Kevin, and spoke about when they first met a couple of years ago, and picking up on Kevin’s energy.
