Acclaimed Canadian tenor Ben Heppner chats with Alexa Petrenko on “The Osasis” about his upcoming concert, O HAPPY DAY: A Joyous Celebration of Gospel Music with The Toronto Mass Choir, a celebration of traditional and contemporary gospel music.

O HAPPY DAY premiered at the Elora Festival last July to a capacity audience and multiple standing ovations. This success was repeated several days later at Toronto’s Koerner Hall as part of the 2018 Toronto Summer Music Festival.

In addition to well-known traditional gospel songs from both the black and white traditions, O HAPPY DAY features contemporary songs written especially for the Toronto Mass Choir as well as time-honoured spirituals and hymns such as Amazing Grace, His Eye is on the Sparrow and, of course, O Happy Day.

Don’t miss it at the Flato Markham Theatre on Saturday, January 26th at 8pm. For tickets and more info visit markham.ca
