“Sunday Night at the Opera” host Alexa Petrenko is excited to introduce listeners to the freshest new voice to hit the opera world. In her words: “The brightest new star in the opera firmament is the young American soprano Nadine Sierra, who in August 2018 released her debut album ‘There’s a Place for Us’ on Deutsche Grammophon. It seems there is nothing she cannot do, ever since she started singing at the age of six. The youngest ever winner of the Marilyn Horne Foundation Vocal Competition and of the Met Opera National Council Auditions, she also recently won the Richard Tucker Award and the Beverly Sills award. We’ll hear her in a compelling collection of songs by North and South American 20th century composers.”
“Sunday Night at the Opera” airs at 9 PM on The New Classical FM.
