Michael Palin is on a book tour, and made The New Classical FM one of his stops! (I can tell you, the entire office was abuzz when he arrived at the studio.) The legendary former member of Monty Python’s Flying Circus and cast member of hit movie “A Fish Called Wanda”, the celebrated playwright, travel documentarian, train enthusiast, and author is promoting his latest book, “Erebus”, published by Penguin Random House. “Erebus” describes the HMS Erebus, one of the great exploring ships that sailed the world until it disappeared in the Arctic, in 1848. No one knows what happened. Then, it was found, in 2014.
Listen to the interview here, where Palin talks about his research process and drive to find out more about the Erebus:
As I walked him out of the building, Mr. Palin expressed relief that I found the scene in “A Wish Called Wanda” where he had french fries up his nose “hysterical.”
