Congratulations to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, which just announced  the appointment of its new Music Director, Gustavo Gimeno. The Spanish-born Maestro is known for his ability to elicit fresh and vibrant performances and has conducted all over Europe, North America, and Japan. His Canadian debut took place with the TSO in February 2018. His tenure officially begins for the 2020/2021 season, but if audiences missed his debut, they can get a preview of what’s in store June 29 and 30 in 2019, when he returns to conduct Stravinsky’s “The Firebird” along with works of Sibelius and Prokofiev. Additional TSO appearances will be announced in the near future.

Kathleen Kajioka interviewed Maestro Gimeno last night on “A Little Night Music” and got to know the TSO’s new Music Director. If you missed it, you can listen to it right here.

Here’s to a wonderful season, TSO!
