This week on Dinner Classics, bartender Norm Owen returns to help Kathleen Kajioka refine that quintessential summer thirst-quencher: the Gin & Tonic! Norm was a long-time bartender at Salt Wine Bar, and currently serves up delectable drinks at Mad Crush – often delighting the discerning palette with spectacular inventions of his own!
The Perfect Gin and Tonic
Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add:
Top with tonic (premium if you can get it, such as Fever Tree)
Garnish with lime
If using Beefeater gin, try garnishing with orange instead.
If you want to get fancy, invest in a bottle of Gin Mare from Spain, and garnish your G&T with black peppercorns and fresh Basil leaves!
