I can’t believe I finally get to write those words, but it’s true – summer has FINALLY arrived in Ontario! One of my favourite things about summer is the music festivals. They bring together some of Canada’s (and the world’s) finest performers for what becomes an embarrassment of musical riches. Take the Toronto Summer Music Festival, for example. This year they will showcase artists such as Jonathan Crow, James Ehnes, The Dvorak Piano Trio, and Jane Coop. Then there’s The Elora Festival featuring the likes of Angela Hewitt, Karina Gauvin and Gordon Lightfoot! And the Stratford Summer Musical Festival will feature Jan Lisiecki, Jean-Michel Blais, and Patricia O’Callaghan, just to name a few. We will be truly spoiled this summer when it comes to live classical music and I encourage you to pack up for an evening, or a weekend, to take in some of these fabulous concerts.
Of course, don’t forget to take us with you! We’re available all across Southern and Central Ontario with our 96.3 FM frequency serving the Greater Toronto Area, our 102.9 FM frequency serving Collingwood, The Georgian Triangle and Cottage Country, and our 103.1 FM frequency serving Cobourg, Peterborough and Eastern Ontario. If you’re heading beyond those boundaries, download the official New Classical FM Radio App from the itunes or android app store, or listen online at www.classicalfm.ca!
Have a great summer, and happy listening!
