Collective Cadenza (CDZA) is a group of musicians in New York that has gained much popularity through posting their videos to YouTube. Seems pretty normal right? The thing that sets these musicians apart is that they are conservatory-trained musicians who like to play around with classical pieces through visual and sonic tricks.
The group’s first video was History of Lyrics that Aren’t Lyrics. Vocalist Jane Lui pretty much sings what the title says, accompanied by bass and piano. The video has garnered more than one and a half million views since it was posted on YouTube two years ago.
Another video that gained much success was the one in which they played a popular song from Hip-hop artist Kanye West in a classical music style. Watch it here:
