Cal and I thank Classical 96.3FM and EMI Music for the great evening we had in Buffalo at the Libera concert. The driver picked us up at the arranged hour and we had a leisurely drive to Buffalo with an easy crossing of the border. The Bijou Grille Restaurant was very convenient to the theatre district and we enjoyed our dinner there where owner Bea Militello warmly welcomed us. We were then driven to the concert hall, which was great because it was raining. Asbury Hall was a perfect venue to hear Libera and the hall was full. The boy’s voices came across loud and clear with the excellent acoustics of the old former church. The vocal range of the group is truly extensive and remarkable. The boy’s individual characters were also evident as they performed. I particularly enjoyed the youngest singer as he made such an effort to perform well. This was quite an achievement for someone who was about to turn nine years old the next week. We particularly liked Adoramus, Sanctus, Orinocto Flow and Libera. The accompaniment on the keyboards and violin was also very appropriate and excellent. On leaving the Hall, we noticed many Ontario license plates on cars in the parking lot. After a pleasant drive, we were home by just before eleven. This was a very relaxing way for us to enjoy a marvelous concert. Thank you also for the “New Dawn” CD. We have it in our car CD player so we can listen to it when we are out of range and cannot receive 96.3 FM. Sincerely Marilyn White.
