Cobourg Spotlights, Community Spotlights, News
We were all shocked and saddened to learn that our friend and colleague Bill Boddington passed away suddenly at his home on February 19. Bill was a media advisor in our Cobourg office for more than twelve years. He was a larger-than-life character, warm, flamboyant and fun-loving, with a boundless zest for life. He was the kind of guy who could command the attention of an entire room, a person you would never forget, even after a casual meeting. As his co-workers, we sometimes envied that joie-de-vivre, wishing we could muster a tenth of his enthusiasm.
When Bill decided to make a career change he moved to Port Hope, and never looked back after making the leap to radio. He loved everything about the business, the people and the music. But he always did what he did best – sales. Bill’s family says he could sell anything to anyone.
Bill was a devoted father, brother and grandfather. He leaves his daughters Kate and Martha, his sister Barbara, his brother George and three grandchildren. He was also passionate about serving his community and was very active in his church as a sidesman and a former member of the Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Toronto. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Port Hope at 1 PM Saturday February 23rd.
