The Red Priest featured image

Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi was nicknamed il Prete Rosso (“The Red Priest”) because of his red hair, although he is often depicted in portraits as having white hair. He was recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers and his influence in music spread all throughout Europe. He is known mostly for composing instrumental concertos, particularly violin concertos.
