Health, The Good Life
The so-called lunchtime treatments, like Botox and facial fillers are really popular with Boomers who want to maintain a youthful appearance without plastic surgery. Now there’s another option. It’s a device called Gentle Waves which uses light therapy to stimulate the skin and make it look fresher. Dr. Trevor Born is a Toronto plastic surgeon.
“The light therapy is an LED device, so the frequency of the light pulsing on the skin stimulates the cells in the skin to produce Collagen, as well as to eliminate some pigmentation and soften lines. This really freshens the skin up beautifully without causing injury, so you’re not left with red skin, sore skin, or having to recover from it. Its really the ‘uber’ of peels, the ‘uber’ lunchtime facial, its really great.”
The treatments cost about $125 each and it takes about eight to achieve the best results.
