Our Towns – Georgian Trail

Our Towns – Georgian Trail featured image

The Georgian Trail is a multi-purpose trail stretching from Collingwood to Meaford along the spectacular southern shore of Georgian Bay.

It’s a former railway line with a hard-packed gravel surface. There are no motorized vehicles allowed, so it’s ideal for walking, jogging, cycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

You’ll enjoy landscapes ranging from wilderness to rural and urban. And there are lots of opportunities to stop, rest and relax, with easy access to beaches, parks, and conservation areas.

Explore shops, restaurants and galleries in Collingwood, Thornbury or Meaford, or take a side trip to Blue Mountain Village. The Georgian Trail is a great way to get some exercise while taking in the scenery!
